12 Smoothie Recipes with Spirulina

CAUTIONS:  Consult your medical care provider before taking Spirulina. Discuss whether or not it’s appropriate for you and if it can be taken in combination with other medications and/or supplements you are taking. Some people do not react well to it. For examples: avoid if you’re pregnant or nursing, sensitive to iodine or have iodine allergy, have allergies to seafood, seaweed or other sea vegetables, have PKU, kidney stones, gout, an autoimmune disorder or a thyroid condition.

DIRECTIONS:  Mix together 1 teaspoon of raw or Manuka honey, 3/4 teaspoon Spirulina powder, 1 heaping teaspoon plain, unsweet, yogurt and 1 drop of essential oil (lavender, patchouli or geranium). Apply mixture evenly to face. Avoid eyes and inside ears/nose. Leave on face for approx. 10 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.  Gently pat dry.
