Goat Milk for Dog's irritated skin: dermatitis, canine acne, hot spots

by Julia

Good Morning, I am a dog groomer and horse groomer and have many clients (dogs) with skin issues; I rarely groom cats (I groom Therapy Horses as a Volunteer) I learned many years ago that "you are what you eat" applies to our domestic pets as well! However, many dog parents do not follow that rule. :(

Can you recommend any goat milk soap/shampoo/conditioners/creams/salves that may help these canine skin conditions:
- hot spots
- canine acne (usually on muzzle and under chin
- dry, flaky skin
- itchy skin
- flea repellant qualities

Please also include information on how/where to order (I could not find it on this site). Thank you so very much. Have a peaceful day.

Hi Julia,

Thank you for your questions. We share a common interest in loving animals! As a pet groomer, I'm sure you see a variety of skin issues. You are correct, "you are what you eat" applies to people and pets. Detecting problem areas, with thick furry animals, can be difficult.

An unscented natural goat milk soap, with no added fragrance, is an excellent choice for people and pets! It's a natural moisturizer. It does not cause build up, but protects against it. It's a natural flea repellent. It's gentle enough for pregnant or seizure prone animals!

This website is mostly an informational site with fun activities for kids and adults. Although, a soap making DVD can be ordered from this website.

You can order unscented, natural, goat milk soap or other bath/body products from Sydne Spencer at Spencers Farm in Taft, Tennessee.
