The benefits of honey are numerous! Honey is a natural, rich golden brown, liquid made by honeybees and stored in honeycombs.

Its natural vitamins are: B1, B2, B5, B6 and C. Its minerals are: magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium, chlorine, sulphur, iron, phosphate, copper, iodine and zinc. Its sugars are glucose and fructose.

Honey has been used for generations from a tasty delicacy to health and beauty treatments. There is a difference between raw and commercial honey. Nearly one million tons of honey is produced, worldwide, annually!

Raw honey is unfiltered with a milky appearance and most nutritional value. It has textured crystals, particles of bee pollen, honeycomb bits, propolis and broken bee wing fragments. It's low in moisture and loaded with antioxidants!

Commercial honey is heated and filtered. This allows for a cleaner, smoother, eye-appealing product for display on store shelves. Natural enzymes are, partially, destroyed. These enzymes are the natural activators for the vitamins and minerals. It's not as healthful or nutritious as raw honey.

Manuka honey vs. traditional honey -  Manuka honey is made from the Manuka flower native to Australia and New Zealand. It is darker in color and thicker in consistency than traditional honey.  Its impressive anti-bacterial properties, distinguishes it from traditional honey.

Is your honey real or fake?  Do the water test.  Drop a tsp. of honey in a glass of water.  Fake honey will dissolve in water, without even mixing.  Real honey will settle at the bottom of your glass in clumps.

BENEFITS OF HONEY: Antibacterial, Anti-inflammatory, Antioxidants, Moisturizes, Speeds Healing, Reduces Scars, Relieves Burns and Fungus

Honey is used for many skin types: dry, oily, acne, sensitive and minor infections (burns, cuts, small wounds, yeast, fungus). Most commercial products contain chemically manufactured harsh ingredients that cause skin problems, such as: excess oil, acne break-outs, foot fungus, dryness, flakiness, redness, rashes or other sensitivities.

Honey is made, naturally, by honeybees. To receive the most benefits of honey for skin, use a good quality honey, like organic or raw. Avoid eyes, ears and nose with any applications to the facial area.
