Kukui nut oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the Aleuritis moluccana, Hawaii’s state tree, also known as the Candlenut tree.
This tree grows up to 80 feet tall, blooms white fragrant flowers, with twisted trunks and branches.
It bears nuts containing seeds with a hard coating and high oil content. The round nuts are from 1.6 to 2.4 inches in diameter.
Kukui nuts are used to make, fashionable, necklaces and carved wooden bowls.
